........erm............hi.........hello!

Well, yes, I am still about. When I say I'm still about, what I actually mean is that I'm here, on the computer, in the house, doing anything but keeping fit! Its cold, nagging sister has abandoned me to my own devices, New Recruit has issues, baby sitting issues. which leaves me trying to rally round the other two people who said they wanted to come along jogging.

Its hard! Its difficult! Its cold. I have no goal at the moment, (well my goal is to stay fit and healthy) but you know what I mean, there is not fun run to join in.

I did do a sponsored walk for my church, only four times walking round the park with members of our congregation. (It had to be a walk as they are all shall we say over well over 21 years old.)

One of the spectators did bring their grandchild along, and as this little fella wanted to jog along I suggested that he jogged besides me, 'We can pass all the others' I said encouragingly to the little fella. 'You just tell me when you want to stop jogging and stat walking.' thinking all the while to myself that the little fella is not going to want to jog the whole way, even on one lap of the park. Little did I know! I asked the little fella if if wanted to walk for a while, but he was quite happy to jog along besides me. It was a warm day when we did our walk, way back in September 27th, and it was a really gloriously warm sunny day! 'I want to catch up with that lady there' said the little fella, now bearing in mind we are on lap three now and I was already sweating like the proverbial, and now the little fella wants to catch up to "that lady". Well "that lady" was Doc, she is about 120 years old, bless her, and was having no problem at all doing the rounds of the park..........in her electric buggy. I swear she had it going at full pelt along the path, I thought those things were only supposed to go at walking pace! But there you go, the little fella wanted to catch up, and so there we were running after the ancient one in her buggy doing full pelt, in the hot sunshine, on our last lap!

I suppose you can imagine, that I did quite make it up to the ancient one, but the little fella did! No problems for him! didn't even have cute rosy cheeks after! Unlike me, Rosy cheeks I had, but as for the looking cute, definitely not!! I think all together (by the way there was only five or six walkers) we made around 200 pounds for our garden at the back of our church. So another worthy cause and a reason for getting fit.

Nagging sister and I did have another session out jogging, but it really was only one. and as for the bike riding, Well, it is cold. best put it away for the winter, and start again in the spring!

I wonder if there is anyway I could go to keep fit, and it doesn't cost any money, and its nice a warm? mmm answers at the end please!

Thursday Evening - and I'm blogging!

Hi blog readers. I know its been a while since my last blog, ......my goodness it sounds like a confession doesn't it....... but well since the last blog I have done absolutely nothing! Re-cap on August 11 - I could just copy and paste that again here.

But I will get back to it. It has been a little bit difficult to get out and about jogging, apart from the fact that I have been glued to the key board looking at facebook and adding embarrassing pics of my kids (always a way to get my girls to talk to me) but I really did have a reason for not doing anything - sort of - and that is my brother went on holiday to Spain and nagging sister had our little niece to look after. So no nagging sister to gently coach me off my (is it increasing) backside, no jogging!

And I did have to look after little niece on Tuesday while nagging sister did one of her 50 million badmington sessions.

Wednesday, I was looking forward to going cycling with nagging sister when I woke up, but quite forgot about little niece not being picked up until later that evening. Still I had something more fun and exciting to do that day! Shopping for delicious ingredients for a curry I was making that night, mmmm yum yum/

Still, I will get back to the keeping fit of the body, mind and sole, eventually, nagging sister has threatened to really push me had next week! An All day bike ride, taking a pack lunch, much prefer to take a six pack instead!

Please do, carry on watching this space, and maybe you guys can help too! A little encouragement goes a long way!

Washout Wednesday!

No I know it wasn't raining today, not even a drizzle to frizzle just one hair on my head. But the day was a complete waste of time well, keep fit wise any way.

I was up bright and early, didn't even have to get up this morning either, but I remembered that nagging sister said she wanted to go cycling to day, so I made sure I was up and ready......well as ready as I can be. And I was sitting waiting for the phone call from nagging sister to say, "Where are you, what time you going to be at the pre-arranged meeting point" and I sit for a little bit more, and listen to the radio, read my paper, and then realised that nagging sister has not rang me up yet. "Oh, maybe she is already there" I think to my self "I suppose I shall just have to call her and find out where she is" So that is what I did, I rang her house phone and I rang her mobile., but no answer. "Oh so where can she be" Just as I was about to show a little bit of concern she calls me, in a very sleepy 'just woke up' voice she says "What?" "What do you mean 'What'" I say to her, "its Wednesday, its cycle day and I'm up and raring to go" "I'm still in bed" she says to me again in her very sleepy just woke up , after only a few hours sleep, voice.

Any way, we both convinced our selves that it was not a good idea to go for a ride today. I instead played on the computer, nagging sister, well, I reckon she went back to sleep, and so no excercising, not even her fingers!

This staying fit lark is harder that the struggling to get to a point where we walked 5 km in 1h 20 mins, *SIGH*

Tomorrow, I will go jogging tomorrow.

GET OUT YOU LAZY WOMAN!

I suppose you all wondering about the title of this latest post. Its because I really did have to shout at myself this morning, and try desperately NOT to call nagging sister and cancel today's jog.

Yesterday (Monday) I did just that. I canceled our all day bike ride. Well it was my anniversary, I wanted to chill. And I did have stuff that I could be getting on with in doors, although I didn't. Its my anniversary and I wanted to chill. So I did! But I did ring her, so she could round up some other victims of nagging sisters quest to get the whole world fit and beautiful as she is......... well as fit as she is....... (I can feel the clip round the ear coming as I write that, but so worth it).

So while nagging sister rang one friend I rang the other. Still now new recruit she has baby sitting problems.mmmm maybe she should strap one to her back or run with a buggy, its a thought, I bet nagging sister has thought of it!

Out of the two phone calls we managed to round up only one other victim. LadySleepy Now LadySleepy came with us once before. We jogged just once around the park, and she had us in stitches, because over her shoulder was her handbag. It was so funny to see her keep lifting it on her shoulder as she was trying to jog ever so lady like round the park. But do you know she did the whole thing without stopping. 1 mile, first time out, and no stopping! I was impressed, nagging sister was impressed! Our other friend didn't come with us today, she is waiting for some Mr. Fixit man to fix something appliance or other.

So just the three of us, looking raring to go, nagging sister as always made up to the nines, Ladysleepy, looking as if she really has just got out of bed and me, in my usually torn joggers and shrunken hoody. We set off with my new stopwatch to keep an eye on how much less fit we are now than a few weeks ago. Beautiful pace to start off with, chatting all the while, no one out of breath and it is a pleasant day. Ladysleepy did complain about it being a little bit chilly, but I know, from experience, we will warm up. Still, I was sensible, I have my hoody, no need to be cold is there. Nagging sister is chatting all the way round to almost turnaround Lamppost, Sleepy and me couldn't get a word in edgewise! But it was a pleasant surprise to realise that while we were talking....ooops......listening to nagging sister we did jog as far as almost turnaround lamppost. We don't go to there anymore, we turn off, we have added another mile to the jog, past the school, on the road, past the cemetery and round the other side of the golf course. Sounds impressive even if I do say so myself. But Sleepy and me were struggling by the time we got to the cemetery. I noticed the order of running, nagging sister up in front (as always) Sleepy, looking like she really does want to go back to sleep, and the me, picking up the rear, as per usual. I really want to stop and have a break now, but nagging sister is nagging, my nose is running, my eyes are running, my hair is running! Why doesn't my feet run!! Sleepy is walking a bit now, oh good I shall just walk along with her for a while, but then she starts to jog along again. Too scared of a tongue lashing for nagging sister no doubt. Let me try and think of something pleasant, to help me concentrate on keeping up with these other two. Oh yes, the flies. The flies that always seem to attack nagging sister, and to make me smirk just that little bit more, by the careless dog owners, I know where those flies stopped for refreshments!!!! Cafe' Le Grand Dane, judging by the pile it left behind!

Yes that's better, laugh at nagging sister as we reach the road. The last stretch before we do the speedy sprint for home. Why oh why do workmen feel the need to shout out 'oi oi girls' as loudly as they can. Do they not know that I don't want any attention bought to myself. I am glowing radioactive red sweating like you wouldn't believe, the last thing I want is to be pointed out to all and sundry. Nagging sister however, is lapping it up. Her and made up face, not glowing at all, unless its radiance! Sleepy even perked up a bit as she ran past the workmen, all I could do is to incoherently beg for a lift from their lorry!

I did forget to mention that as we were running past the play park, nagging sister had a whim to have a go on the zip wire! Both me and sleepy were just glad or the rest and we watched as nagging sister still barking out orders, 'push me, go on, I want to reach to other side in one go' Oh boy what an invitation! I duly got off the swing and went on over to the zip wire, and gave nagging sister the push that she deserved. You guessed it, she still didn't make the other side, I just didn't have it in me to push her hard. Nagging sister somehow went into mega nagging and persuaded sleepy to get on to the other zip wire!! How? No-one can escape nagging sisters nagging.

We get to torture point, where nagging sister gently reminds us 'Ok girls, sprinting from here to the door' oh how I hate this section of our circuit. So the order, Nagging sister, sleepy, me. Nagging sister is off, sleepy still jogging along at the same pace, and me, from somewhere deep inside of me, sprinting, past sleepy and heading on up to the house. I bet you all thought I was going to say past nagging sister then, but alas no, by the time I got up to speed she was already banging on the door to be let in.

35 mins 54 seconds. And that includes time out in the play ground. Hmmm definitely must do better. I did take pictures of us before and during our jog, I just wanted to share with you all the whole experience, but unfortunately my camera is not working properly. shame.

Torturous Tuesday

Hi blog watchers. Yes I started my regime again, and boy has these last six weeks taken its toll.

I went for a jog yesterday, (Monday), I thought I would break myself gently back into the whole idea of jogging, hurting, pain, humiliation and NAGGING SISTER!, So I walked the young girl to school, about a mile at a quess, and then walked to the bank to do my banking. That done, I decided that I will jog all the way home, which is a mile. Now as you now from the previous blog, I was doing two miles, easy-ish, ok nagging sister was virtually pushing me all the way, but I was doing two miles, virtually everyday. Well you can imagine the shock to the system when only after about twenty feet, I was huffing and puffing like a 100 year old on twenty havanna cigars a day!

You don't realise that if you don't keep it up, its not staying with you. Grrr, It was just like that first day way back last march (2007) I really had to push my self to get home.

I might just add here, that I was jogging alone, new recruit now has babysitting problems and nagging sister was......shall I say........ Yes....she was doing nothing, not even house work, didn't even pick up a broom, she was Facebooking, a complete time waster, (I know because I now have been added the ever increasing members) No nagging sister didn't do any form of heart pounding exercise or even got her heart above snooze mode yesterday. But I did

Today, however is a different kettle of fish. On the walk up to the school with the young girl, it started to rain, ever so slightly, and as my legs HURT from yesterday, I got on the phone tonagging sister "I am not ready for jogging in the rain" I say to her, "We'll just go for a bike ride tomorrow" But no, nagging sister wasn't having any of that, "Don't be daft its only drizzle, you get your butt ready immediatly" Mutter, grumble, hmpf....... So there we were this morning. It had stopped raining when nagging sister arrived at my house, bouncy and shiny and all made up like at flipping beauty queen, and me in my torn joggers, hair still sticking up from the 'drizzle' of rain earlier. "Come on then" says nagging sister, shoving her badmington stuff down, oh yes, she still goes badmington 50 thousand times a week, so I can just imagine how she is going to looke after this short jog, yes, exactly, not a lot of difference to how she is looking now, perfect!

Off we go then, chatting and laughing, well it is the begining, and surprisily I am enjoying it, I am doing better that I did yesterday, mmm maybe I just run too fast when I'm by myself, and before I know it we are passing five posts, half way to turn around lamppost, because that is all we said we were doing for the first week or so. I am still jogging along quite nicely, not feeling the pain yet, but belive me, it kicked in. Just before I reached the allyway! "Come on, you can do this I know you can, now MOVE" nagging sister yells at me. And so I do, hurting all the way to turn around lamppost, my only comfort was the fact the flies always seem to attack my sister as we run through the ally, (I'm sure dog owners let their dogs do their business here because they cant be seen between the hedges, hmmm) and I smile to myself, through the pain, at her schreaching and shooing away the flies, ah great fun.

We reach turn around lamppost, "Do you want to rest a bit" she says at me smiling "I in return looked at her and leaned heavily against the fence on the pretence of stretching limbs out.

I didn't think I would manage to run all the way back home from here and I stupidly said to nagging sister this, "I know you can do this and you will even if I push you all the way" she says, almost cruely I thought. But do you know what, blog readers, that is what nagging sister did. Pushed me, literally got behind me and pushed me, I was screaming out that she was hurting me, (Well my legs were killing me from yesterdays little jog) but the innocent dog walker just gave me a quick glance back and carried on walking her dog, I'm sure nagging sister cackeled then.

We made it home, just how I predicted, me looking this complete red, sweaty, heaving lump or humanity and her, nagging sister, looking as if she is about to do a photo shoot for Badmington Weekly!!

A struggle to stay fit blog readers, oh yes indeed, and I feel sure it will reamin a struggle for the rest of my life!

Honesty Is The Best Policy.

Well Hi blog spotters. Yes I know its been a while since I last blogged anything, but, and I am being very honest here, its been a while since I did any sort of keep fit. I have plenty of excuses, and they are only excuses, up until the children's school holidays, and now the school holidays are here, I have valid reasons reasons. Valid reasons not to do any form of exercise. Reason 1 The kids are off school, they can't possible keep up and do two miles joggiing Answer Then go in the evening! Reply Can't possible do that, dinner to cook, eat and clean up, plus all those lovely soaps on the t.v. to catch up on. Reason 2 I hurt my back, (the other week) and high impact exercises is not good for me. Answer Then go swimming, that is very good exercise and very gently on your back! Reply NO! NO! NO! my hair will go curly (Ok so its vanity that's stopping this particular course of action, but its all I have) Reason 3 I have no other reasons or excuses, apart from laziness and it will change when the kids back at school, Honest Answer Get off your backside and do something, NOW Reply (silence) As you can see bloggers, the schizophrenia still here, nagging sister, is also still on the scene but she too as become a little lazier during the school holidays, (only doing 3 badmington classes a week instead of 3 classes and jogging everyday). And new recruit is aparantly really missing nagging sisters nagging. Some people you just cant help. (Mind you, please don't tell nagging sister this, I am missing the jogging and the nagging too) Can you tell that we have not been to see a therapist yet. So I'm sure once the kids are back at school we shall be back to our fit selves again. But in the meantime, my diet, I could tell you about my diet. But alas that too has taken a nose dive since the Race for life, by the way, between all of us that was in our group we raised well over a thousand pounds for cancer research UK, so we are all very pleased with ourselves, I have included a picture of us all in this blog, but do go and see some of the other pictures on my other blog. Oh yes diets. well, I am still eating healthily, just not every single day, the odd takeaway curry has made a very welcome comeback, oh how I have missed those, not to say that my home made curry is of less superior quality you understand, but its just all the accompliments that go with a takeaway curry, hmmm yum yum. (Homer Simpson moment) And the delicious house special kebab has managed to cross the threshold again. But still not too bad on the hole. Oh yes and we have been eating out, and pints of lager etc etc etc. But still not too bad, one has to live, and to be happy living, right? So watch this space, you will see a different person here in a couple of months time, Honest!!
